American Idol Season 8 and Katrina Darrell Bikini Girl

We were told that American Idol was going to get some sort of a makeover to boost up the lull ratings that were strung during the middle of last season. The new changes came into effect with the addition of Kara DioGuardi to join Randy, Simon, and Paula on the judge’s panel of the hit reality TV show. Furthermore, one of the show’s producers Nigel Lythgrowe parted ways with the show. Fox was looking forward to making the show fresh to retain and add new viewers to the weekly ratings. Well, I will say the show has become a lot more interesting since the start of Season 8.

Season 8 of American Idol came out to a wild start last night in Phoenix Arizona, with the help of Katrina Darrell. Who is she? Known as the American Idol Bikini Girl, Darrell got her ticket to Hollywood by auditioning in an orange bikini and high heeled shoes. The 20 year old part time model performed Mariah Carey’s Vision of Love during the audition that was beyond mediocre. When Kara DioGuardi, the newest American Idol panelist told her Darnell that she had no swing and belted out the same few notes, Katrina shot back with “But your demonstration wasn’t any better”. This was leading up into a cat fight that was abruptly stopped by Paula Abdul. The outcome is that Katrina Darrell made it to the next round of the show.

That is making her the most talked about American Idol contestant in the history of the show. Several concerned  parents are outraged by the lack of attire Katrina had on plus Kara Idols newest judge did not handle the snappy attitude of American Idols Bikini Girl  and was ready to throw down in an all out cat fight. Most Americans love drama and the start of Season 8 on American Idol is giving them the dose that they need and to curve their appetite.

Another reason why she has been so talked about is the comment that Katrina Darrel made about making out with Ryan Seacrest, the show’s host. Even though Ryan told Katrina that having a relationship with a contestant is strictly against American Idol rules, but that he would keep the thought in mind. She went as far as telling Ryan that she has chosen the names of their future children together. After Katrina’s golden ticket to Hollywood, she found Ryan and gave him a very deep open kiss right on the show! That’s getting to be way more interesting than watching any of the previous seasons of the show!

Then there is the look upon Randy and Simons face, it almost looked like that their eyes were bugging out of their head when Katrina pranced into the room to audition. Even though they were whispering while Katrina was singing, most likely about her lack of singing abilities, they gave her that golden ticket to the next round of contestants, much to Kara DioGuardi and Paula Abdul’s dismay. Both women stated that Katrina was a terrible singer while Kara also belted out to Katrina Darrell to next time to appear naked on the show.

The real question is what possessed her to try out for the show? From what was gathered on last night’s show is that she is more after the attention and fame rather than getting a hit record. The proof was in her attire and the way she presented herself during the show. Plus Katrina stated last night that she was trying to become noticed and to separate herself from the rest of the contestants during American Idol auditions in Phoenix.

The future will be looking bright for her, even if she doesn’t make it to the finalists round of American Idol. Katrina has caught a lot of attention with the media and viewers alike. Not only is her modeling career going to soar more than what it is now, but I can predict that she and Ryan will become an item after she leaves the show. Katrina Darrell has been brought into the limelight and will always be remembered as the bikini girl who tried out to become America’s next superstar. Her attitude will also contribute to the rise of her new found stardom.

As for the show, last night’s episode not only has become well talked about, but the ratings are going to soar as long as Katrina Darrell is strutting around in another bikini. Whether or not she has true talent, the gang at American Idol saw something special about her to give away that golden ticket to Hollywood and will leave us with the suspense of what is she going to wear next on the show? What she leaves us with is a wild imagination and an initiative to tune into see what happens in next week’s show.
